Do I have to take physics in high school?

I’m a 4.0 student but I haven’t taken physics yet. I was wondering would it hurt my application if I don’t take it? I want to apply to Wharton for undergrad business.

UPenn strongly recommends that students have bio, chem, and physics in high school as well as an advanced course in one of the three. What year in school are you?

I strongly encourage you take physics. I think most selective colleges expect it.

Many highly selective schools make that suggestion; Wharton, however, is not one of them, although they would still expect you to take 3-4 years of lab science. Having said that, taking physics can’t hurt, and may help.

Taking Bio, Chem, and Physics in HS (doesn’t have to be AP) gives you a basic scientific literacy that will be useful to you in life no matter what your career.
