Do I have to talk about expulsion from previous university for UC TAG application?

Hi, I got expelled from a private university after cheating on a midterm last semester. Since then, I've been attending a CCC and planning to take summer courses so I can apply for TAG next fall.

On the TAG application, do I have to specifically state that I was expelled?

Also, can the UC TAG system reject me after I was accepted, when they receive my "official" transcript?
So it would look like this:

Send in TAG application -> Accepted into TAG -> Finish year at CCC -> Send in all transcripts -> UC sees expulsion from private university -> UC retroactively rejects me.

I think that is something that you have to put on the UC application, but I am not sure. They can only rejected you if the UC application states that you have to say that you been expelled from another college.

TAG requires you to be in “good standing” with your previous school. With an expulsion, I doubt you are in good standing. Yes, you have to tell them you were expelled. Your transcripts will reflect your status at your previous schools. It is better to be honest up front. You have already been expelled from a school for cheating, this is your chance to show the UCs that you have academic integrity despite your previous lapse in judgement.

Is the one you got expelled from your last school? I don’t think so because you wouldn’t be able to do a TAG then.

Ask a counselor at your CC and be very honest with them.

When you TAG you still have to fill out the UC application which I believe does ask if your have ever been expelled or on academic probation. The best thing you can do is be honest if you try to hide it and they find out you can/will get expelled for academic dishonesty, but if you show you’re sorry write about it in your Personal Statement and the UC’s will read it and hopefully it will show you’ve changed and will not cheat again.
