Do I have to update the CSS I filled out in December?

I submitted a CSS to one college in December for a financial aid estimate for possible ED. Son decided to go RD for that school. Now we're submitting the CSS to 3 other colleges. I plan on updating our income information from our official 2012 tax returns (I think it will be very close to my estimates) but do I have to update all the figures for our retirement income? And the values of the savings bonds we own? And our mutual funds? Can I update income and submit the figures from early December?

Thanks!

You will have to update the Profile. I would wait until your taxes are finalized. Contact the school to see how they want the update done. Some will want a redlined hard copy while others will take an E-Mail.

I asked essentially the same question a few days ago.

Thanks for thread link, Confusedmom. I think I’ll leave the retirement stuff and mutual funds alone. I doubt they’ve changed enough to make a difference. I’ll just update the 2012 income stuff. Oddly enough, I did a guesstimate for 2012 income and I was about $700 under, but I guessed the amount we will pay in federal taxes to the dollar.

^ Be careful though. If you are that good your PM box will be full in no time!

I predict…a full ride!! :)
