Do I have what it takes for Princeton/Yale?

I'm looking mostly at the Ivies (Princeton/Yale/Dartmouth in particular) and Duke. I need some safeties too, so if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it! Here is my information:

Essays: haven't written them yet?

Teacher Recommendation: Both should be good
Counselor Rec: Should be very good

By the way, I'm a white girl, so that doesn't help much. But if you chance me, I will chance back :)

Go for it. You sound incredibly talented and versatile and should have your choice of schools. I love that you are sending your art portfolio with your applications. As for safeties, certainly your state flagship and some LACs that might give you merit aid for your stats?

You are a very very competitive applicant.

You are white and a girl which hurts (but then again it will hurt a lot of people on CC including myself). You are a strong applicant, but you want to go to two of the most competitive schools in the country. You are lacking community service (you did nothing during the school year junior year) which will probably hurt. Your academics/scores are superb and so is your senior course load (I am jealous that you get to take AP Studio Art, my school stopped offering it because only art majors where taking it). If your first choice offered ED I suggest you apply ED. Good luck!

Well, during my junior year I probably did about 20 hours of community service through my clubs (particularly Green Team), but do you think that is worth mentioning? Also, if I were you, I would definitely ask your school about AP Studio to see if you could take it online/through a local community college-I hear that it’s a great course! And thank you for the advice!

You definitely sound like a strong competitor, GL on your essays.

However, 20 hours is quite low, I don’t think it’s really worth a mention.
