Do I need a letter of rec from my counselor?

I have gotten 2 teachers to agree to write me letters of rec (one has already submitted it, I'm not sure about the other one).

My question is, do I also need my counselor to write a letter of rec even though I already have 2 from teachers? I don't understand why this would be the case since I've only talked to my counselor two or three times total so he doesn't know anything about me.

Your counselor has to fill out a report called the secondary school report. That will give the college a confirmation of your class rank, your GPA, and they also submit your official transcript. The counselor has to also submit information on how your school grades work, since there can be vast differences in how grades are calculated, and will state whether you have received any official discipline. If they know you they can also include a short recommendation letter, however the other information is more important and colleges are fully aware that many counselors do not know all the students in your school and will not count it against you if the counselor does not know you very well.
