Do I need to take the English or math placement tests?

I’ve gotten a few acceptance letters from CSUs and all of them say that I need to take an English and math placement test but I heard that you don’t have to take them if you got certain scores on SAT. I got a 570 in math and 610 in reading on the SAT, do I have to take them? And, if not, how do I get that information to the colleges?

You should be exempted from the placement tests; you met all the exemption requirements. Contact the admission office just to make sure.

You do not have to take the EPT if you present proof of one of the following:
:black_medium_small_square:A score of 500 or above on the critical reading section of the College Board® SAT® Reasoning Test
:black_medium_small_square:A score of 22 or above on the American College Testing (ACT®) English Test
:black_medium_small_square:A score of 3 or above on either the Language and Composition or Composition and Literature examination of the College Board Scholastic Advanced Placement® (AP®)
:black_medium_small_square:Completion and transfer to CSU of the credits for a college course that satisfies the CSU General Education requirement in English Composition, provided such course was completed with a grade of C or better
:black_medium_small_square:A result of “Standard Exceeded: Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level coursework in English” on the CAASPP Early Assessment Program (EAP) exam.

You do not have to take the ELM if you present proof of one of the following:
:black_medium_small_square:A score of 550 or above on the mathematics section of the College Board® SAT® Reasoning Test
:black_medium_small_square:A score of 550 or above on a College Board SAT Subject Test in Mathematics (level 1 or level 2)
:black_medium_small_square:A score of 23 or above on the American College Testing (ACT®) Mathematics Test
:black_medium_small_square:A score of 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement® (AP®) Calculus AB or Calculus BC
:black_medium_small_square:A score of 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement Statistics examination
:black_medium_small_square:Completion and transfer to CSU of a college course that satisfies the requirement in Quantitative Reasoning, provided such a course was completed with a grade of C or better
:black_medium_small_square:A result of “Standard Exceeded: Ready for CSU or participating CCC college-level coursework in mathematics” on the CAASPP Early Assessment Program (EAP) exam

Does sending my SAT scores to the CSUs as part of the application count as proof? Or do I need to do something extra?

Since SAT and or ACT scores are required for your CSU application, the CSU’s must have your scores so I would think that will suffice for proof. Did you check your application portal to make sure the scores have been received?
