Do I really have to take the SAT again??

This question might be somewhere in this forum, but I could not find one....

I'm applying to highly selective schools (Ivy+ BA/MD program)
and I have pretty good scores on ACT.

But then, the problem is that I scored 2070 on SAT(October 2007). Even though it's not a bad score, it is significantly low compared to my ACT scores.

So, my question is, since I'll have to send the SATII score reports in, the 2070 has to be reported as well(since collegeboard reports everything)..

So my question is,

ACT 33 (Feb 2008), 35 (Apr 2008) vs. SAT 2070
(In SAT range, 2200-2330)

Do I have to retake SAT? or Do the colleges look at just higher of the two exams without any preference?

please? Anyone?

I don’t think it will matter. Up to you though, whatever you feel safer doing.

I would retake it…couldn’t hurt (especially if you’re applying to top-tier schools). At least it shows that you made the effort to improve, even if you don’t end up scoring higher.

I would just send in the ACT score (the 35) Most if not all colleges will take the ACT in place of the SAT, so if you already have an excellent score in one, why bother retaking the other?

Be sure to check the individual colleges to see if they require the SATII though, in addition to the ACT.

^I’m sending the SATII’s no matter what, since almost all the colleges that I’m applying to require SATII. That’s why I’m worried; since I’ll have to send SATII scores, the SATI score gets reported on the same report.

If you have the time to, definety retake it…
but If you are short on time its ok :)

Yeah, I believe it’ll get sent. I would retake it if I were you, and try to imrpove.
