Do I really need AP Psychology

I don’t get why my counselor put me in the AP Psychology class because my endorsement is in STEM and I want to be a engineer.

Why don’t you talk to your guidance counselor and find out his/her reason. Perhaps it fufills a graduation requirement. For the record, AP Psych is widely considered to be one of the easier APs.

Psychology is interesting/useful for everyone!
Are you in a math and science (bio/chem/physics?)
What else are you taking?

AP Psych is interesting and gives you useful information. Add to that many colleges let you substitute AP psych for psych 101 or equivalent intro to psych when you get to college = win win

Hard for anyone to say anything without knowing the context of what else you are taking, have taken, and plan to take. Or whether AP psychology is in place of some other course you wanted instead.

Your GC “put” you in AP Psych? You didn’t get any kind of choice? Or even options in the case of a conflict?

I’m sorry you are unhappy with your placement. On the other hand, it is always interesting here on CC to hear about differences in how schools organize themselves.

I am taking AP biology
Physics
Engineering design and presentation 1

Also robotics 2

Again, talk to your guidance counselor. AP Psych may be a required social science class or something like that. Nobody here knows the inner workings of your HS, your HS graduation requirements etc. Go to the source and find out why you were placed in the class. If it is not required ask what the alternatives are. Anything else is just spinning your wheels.

Nope

Just do it. It’s an easy class, and an easy 5 to get on the AP exam.

Thanks

Are you a junior? Senior?
Are you enrolled in English and Social science beside AP Bio, engineering design, physics, and Robotics?
4 stem classes + math would be the absolute maximum colleges would appreciate - you’re NOT supposed to be a specialist in high school.

I have Psychology, English 3, Robotics 2, Algebra 2 Ap biology, regular physics AP US history engineering presentation and design1 and PAp/Ap Psychology and that is me schedule for my junior year of school are those classes are ok so what do I have to do in my senior year

I think you have 8 junior year courses:
Psychology (PAp/Ap Psychology)
English 3
Robotics 2
Algebra 2
AP Biology
Physics (regular)
AP US history
Engineering Presentation and Design 1

Did I break that up correctly? If so, that’s a fine junior year schedule.

In your senior year, you’d take the next class in the math sequence (often called Trig or Pre-Calc, but your school might call it something else) and English 4.

If you liked your on-level physics class, have already had a year of chemistry, and your school offers it, I’d suggest AP Physics 1 as your senior year science. If you haven’t yet had a year of chemistry, take chemistry.

How are you doing on foreign language classes?

I did 2 years of Spanish during my freshman and sophomore year and I had pre ap Chemistry in my sophomore year of high school
