Do I REALLY need to give my Social Security Number?

<p>I'm applying to get an scholarship from the HSF but I'm not sure about "giving away" my SS#. Do all scholarships ask for a SSN?</p>

<p>I would be hesitant about providing a social security number for a scholarship. You need to be certain the scholarship is legitimate, first of all. You don't want to give out your SSN to just anyone.</p>
