do i stand a chance- below average

Can you please tell me my chances at: University of Michigan, University of Maryland College Park, University of southern California and Brandies? Only these, please don’t suggest others. I have already found safety so don’t worry.

Stats: GPA something like 4.5/4.0 Weighted
ACT 24 with an eight on the essay –bad I know- I’m a bad standardized test taker

High school classes are honors and one AP. school only lets take 2 AP’s junior and senior year. So still have a moderately hard curse load. Would have taken AP USH but took Honors physics instead. (Interested me more)

Extracurricular: not much, but at my school it’s real hard to have a-lot. Go to school until 9 at night. I have Judaic studies I the morning and English classes in the afternoon.

Also, I plan to try to retake the act hoping for a 26. I am taking it Dec 10 it should reach all the schools I listed above, Right?

Assuming I have great essays and recs do I stand a shot at getting into any of the colleges mentioned above? On a side note, I know someone from my school with a 25 on the ACT who got into college park so I think I stand some chance.

Only a realistic chance at College Park.

Hm...U of M will be a definite reach. The ACT score is pretty low, but if you do get a 26....there is still that chance because 50% of the admitted freshman class of 2010 had around a 26-32 (I think...er...at least those stats have motivated me) TDec 10 is pretty late in taking anymore standarized tests, I think...because your score wouldn't come back until two weeks. And it is weird that your school only allows for 2 APs...as most schools should encourage challenging students. o'well. How'd you do on the AP exams? Most importantly, are you in-state or out?

Good luck at everything! College Park seems like a good option...but work hard on that next ACT and perhaps...you could be a Wolverine!

Depends on race for U of M. If you are white, I would definitely save your money.
