Do I stand a chance for GS?

I'm a junior transfer into UCB. My intended major was Econ but I'm changing to applied math in econ. My CC gpa was 3.81. By the time I graduate, I will be eligble to sit for the CPA exam and will have a broker's license/notary.

In my first year of college I was I did an internship/mentorship at gerson lehrman group under one of their top 5% consultants in the field of telecommunications for 6 months.

During that time/afterwards for a year, I became the co-founder of a successful real estate finance company (loan mods, short sales, credit/debt consolidation, CR, debt settlement). We specialized in M&A. I created all the systems, trained law firms/processing companies, negotiated contracts, created a loop hole to do loan modifications were done after laws were passed to kill the industry, and created the entire back end for the business.

I left the company before it became lucrative (financial reasons) to hold a data analyst/media buyer position at a large advertising firm. I worked there for 4 months before I left to attend Berkeley (no animosity, job offered after graduation).

This summer, I've been consulting and working for the real estate company I helped found.

I also have other work experience in the film industry as a production coordinator (under academy award nominated director, not a big name). I also did an apprenticeship under an A list designer. I know this is fairly unrelated so I'm not even sure if it's worth disclosing on my resume.

My highschool stats are pretty bad. 3.0 exactly 1740 sats.

Given my current stats, what are the chances I have an opportunity to hold an internship at GS any other BB next summer assuming my GPA stays the same (3.75+ in college)?

I'm most interested in IB & Quant Trading.

getting the internship mostly depends on GPA and finance related EC’s

if you’re coming from Haas, well GS is a long shot for anybody, but I’m sure you have a good shot at most BBs in general

Well, I just figured to use GS as a bench mark for a BB. I’m not from Haas. Haas is the undergraduate business program in Berkeley. I thought a more technical major would be more beneficial in the long run.

do you have any contacts at gs or other bb’s?

if you don’t know anybody at gs, it is extremely difficult to get in. i know a guy who has a 4.0 and has internships / finance ec’s out the ass but he couldn’t even get interviews with gs. other bulge’s offered him interviews (and eventually, internships) from him simply applying online (we go to non-target).

it all depends on the bank. it’s easier to get interviews at some and more difficult at others. you obviously have a shot at gs, but you gotta get to the interview first. just apply at every bb and you will get interviews somewhere.
