Do I stand a chance of admittance?

My name is Cooper and i go to a small Alternative school in Anchorage Alaska which does not offer AP courses. I have taken the hardest schedule possible, i think, and my teachers would agree.

GPA so far and raising a little more then 3.7

I am going to drive each morning to the bigger high school in town and take AP calc BC this year because my schedule allows.

SAT scores: All 650s i think, i’m going to retake it though, don’t worry.

Easily have 3 strong letters of Rec.

I have already written my essay but am considering rewriting it. It is about a really intense experience i had during my mentorship in the emergency department when i saw a man die. Then it goes on to describe the conversation i had with the doctor afterwards and how instead of turning me off wanting to be a doctor, it strengthened my drive.

I enjoy athletics a lot and participating in school gov’t. I want to be pre-med but also would like to dabble in foreign language, political science, econ and such. I want to study abroad or do research over years if economically feasable.
Any opinions on if I’m a good Bates fit and what my chances are would be appreciated.
Cooper

hey man, i think youre in good shape. bates doesn't place much emphasis on the SATs or the ACTs, so make sure your transcript and GPA are up there. your EC's are fine, so i think you should be all set, goodluck

ec's a little weak

the fact that your 'full length book' didnt hit the times best sellers list is kind of a red flag

well i sure hope Tzar is kidding. Just by his language. I would have to admit it's not a very good book looking back on it, i read it this summer. But, what do you think a good GPA would be for schools like Bates?
Thanks

you are in , dont worry, and alaska is a huge factor
