Do i stand a chance?

Hi everyone!

So, I’m a senior in high school and I am absolutely head over heels in love with Bryn Mawr!!! The architecture, the ceremonies, the value and overall vibe of the school is absolutely perfect for me!

However…my grades…

I have like a 2.8 GPA (unweighted) but I’m hoping I can boost it up to a 3.0 by the end of my first semester senior year (I have straight A’s so far)

I’ve taken a lot of AP classes: AP Euro, AP Bio, AP Environmental, AP US History, AP Lang, AP Lit, AP Gov, AP Stat, AP Chem and AP Comparative Gov and I’ve done fairly well in all of them, but the amount of energy I put into my AP classes affected my grades in my regular classes (especially math, which i did terribly in)

My subject SAT’s:690 in Lit and 660 in US but I’m going to retake them in November and I’m sure I can boost my Lit score by a lot!

SAT: 2170

My hook is journalism and that is all i really have going for me. Im eic of the school paper, I’ve won lots of awards, met the mayor, wrote so many controversial pieces, some have gone to news broadcasting companies, and I’ve helped out at the Times this summer.

My essay is super fantastic, all my English teachers say so and my bryn mawr interview could not have gone ANY better. It was amazing!

If i apply ED…do i stand a chance? Be honest!

Also, do the chances of getting in differ if you apply ED I or ED II?

Let me know please and thank you! <3

Hi Hopeless05,

If Bryn Mawr is truly your dream school, you should apply! The only difference between EDI and EDII is the deadline. That’s it. So if your application is assembled, I would go ahead and apply EDI. While Bryn Mawr does look at your transcript, it’s promising that your test scores are within range. I think it would be helpful for you to have your guidance counselor maybe mention in their letter a note about your grades and outline any circumstances that may have affected your GPA. Let your enthusiasm show in your supplemental essay and emphasize why BMC is critical for your personal and academic development. Best of luck!

Thanks and I totally will! :)

Hey, so u r applying this November?

@englishivy where do u study?

Savvy123,

I’m a current undergrad at Bryn Mawr.

So how is bryn mawr? How much scholarship did you receive? If you want to share the info that is. Oh and which major?

And can you tell me how I’ll get notified if you reply to me here? It took me a really long time to locate this thread to see if you have replied to my prv question. You see, I just created an account here, so I’m really lost. :(

savvy123 my experience has been that each night I’ll get emails from CC letting me know if there are any new posts to the threads I have posted on. You will only get that notification once a day so you can always look for the starred threads which means you contributed to that thread…

Oh thank you. But why don’t I get a notification via email.

make sure you’re checking the email you used to register for CC.

I did, but no notif. But thanks for ur guide bud.

I decided to apply ED 2 so i could get my first semester senior grades to bump up my gpa. what about you?
