Do I still file my FAFSA if I've reached my lifetime limit?

Ok, so I have two more years of school left to graduate. I have one more year of the Pell Grant and I will have reached my limit. So I’ll be covered for 17-18, but won’t get anything for 18-19.
My question is, should I still file?
My EFC is 0, and I want to apply for need based scholarships that require the FAFSA EFC. Does this mean I will have to file even though I know I will be getting nothing because I have reached my limit? Will I get an EFC back even if I won’t be getting anything? How does that part work? No one really talks or informs us about these things!

Pell grant status does NOT determine whether you would qualify for any COLLEGE provided financial aid beyond your Pell grants.
That is what the FAFSA application is for. So YES, fill it out!

.

Also, you might not have reached your federal student loan limit yet, you need to file FAFSA for that.

Work study, SEOG, state aid might also still be available. You can ask your current school FA office.
