I was wondering if Minnesota is still sending out scholarship money? And if they are if I have a chance at getting any?
GPA: 3.91 (unweighted, my school doesn’t weight)
APs: 2 (the only ones my school offers)
ACT: 31
Extra Curriculars: HOSA (some leadership), NHS, FBLA, Band (including drum major, drum line, honor band), and Spanish Club
Rank: 14 out of 90
It’s very low but my school doesn’t do AP credit on a 5 point school, meaning there are kids ranked ahead of me who didn’t take nearly as challenging classes but got all As in the easy ones, and therefore have a higher class ranking. It’s a very bad system and it’s really been bugging me.
Anyway, I know my stats are pretty average for CBS (the college I was admitted to) but my ACT at least is in the top 75% of the university as a whole from what I’ve seen. I was just wondering if I had a chance at any merit based aid, or if I could call and find out? Thanks!
You didn’t say if you were in-state or OOS, which can make a difference. But as you noted- your stats are mid-range for CBS. I wouldn’t count on it, to be frank.
Minnesota tends to start with lower tuition rates to begin with, so scholarship money is tighter than other schools. Be sure to compare total COA- even without scholarships, Minnesota is usually competitive anyway.
