Do internationals take the same SAT as US students?

@GMTplus7 lol no Sweden haha, why India?

Sorry internationals use that terminology.

Just one last question I largely wirte how english people write as in the word labor in US I write as labour, conversely ‘donuts’ = doughnuts etc.

Will I be penalised for this.

Nah

So the curve in the test for international will be the same for those who took the SAT in U.S?

@GMTplus7 do you get penalised for spelling? I have dyselxia asd

@thewindisblowing from what I gather is that the US student set the curve and internatioanls sit a recycled test that US students have done. So yes but the curve is almost always full marks in maths for 800

@NearMello There is only 2 SATs. There is no SAT testing centre in China, and anywhere outside of US uses the same exam. And yes, all “international” SATs are recycled from those American ones.

@ueutyi so international test in jan could be US december then? thats cray cray

So US test takers set the curve, interesting.

Actually, in the last few years the CB has tried to be a little “unpredictable” and has given different tests to some countries. I believe Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, for example, had different tests from the rest of the world in October.

And you know what’s crazy? This year’s October test in Korea was the US test from March. Some kids took the US test in March and then took the exact same test in Korea this fall. One student I know even got her exact same score haha (fortunately it was a good score).

@NearMello

I believe that there are quite a few international schools in China that are registered SAT centers, and it is only mainland Chinese natives who cannot take the SAT in China.

In fact, these international schools, along with the notorious academies that are nothing more than fronts for illegal criminal activity, are the main culprits in every SAT and SSAT scandal that has occurred within China for the past few years, with principals and proctors themselves taking bribes and leaking exams, and a large majority of the Korean and Chinese students at these schools having had advance access to the tests.

One stroke on Google and you’ll understand why ETS sends padlocked boxes only to test centers in China, and why only China experienced a regional delay in November amid allegations of rampant cheating on the SAT (YET AGAIN), not to mention the entire cancellation of over 300 SSAT scores in China recently.

@devious2015 that is crazy lmao, I can’t believe that. Having said that 2 of the other smart kids in my class are from china haha.
