do interviews help much?

As ze title questions, do interviews actually do much for an application? Like...not that they'd outdo SAT scores, but if you have really bad sat scores and good everything else, would interviews help? If not like this, how would they enhance one's application?

i love how everyone reads my posts but gives no responses ( blah)

I think they do. I just had mine today and on the form I filled out with my name/address/etc. there was a question for the interviewer about how strong an applicant this person seems to be. ("A clear standout," "very competent like many others," etc.).

I never had one and I got in ED. I don't know many ED people who had interviews . . . but I imagine it can only help you in the end, so long as you give a good impression. :)

How do you request an interview? I never saw a place to do this.
