Do Ivy Leagues look at midterm and final grades?

Hi,

I just finished taking my midterms today, and I found out that I had received a C on my GT chemistry midterm (with the curve, it is actually a B). I have always received A’s in all my classes, so this was kind of shocking, but it’s also my fault since I didn’t study as much as I should have. (I am a sophomore)

My question is that will selective/top colleges look at my midterm (and final) grades if I have a 4.0 GPA overall at the end of the year? I really hope that this won’t impact my chances; I certainly have learned my lesson to study more in the future :frowning:

Colleges will only see what your high school puts on the transcript. If that is the class final grade (like my school does) that is all the college will see.

Talk to your guidance counselor and ask what goes on the transcript sent to colleges. It varies from HS to HS.
