Do majors matter? Philosophy major, IR grad school.

<p>This question has probably come up here before, but a quick search didn't really answer my question... can one's major in college have nothing to do with what they go to grad school for? I've gotten varying answers: some say it doesn't matter, others say there needs to be a strong connection. Can I major in philosophy and then go to grad school for IR?</p>

<p>Of course you can do this combination. It is entirely context specific so philos. undergrad with intent to do mechanical eng. would not work.</p>

<p>International relations, like business, is an interdisciplinary subject area and diverse undergraduate backgrounds enhances the program.</p>
