So I'm going to be a freshman at UC Berkeley in the fall and I'm planning to be premed so I need a year of math. However, I already took 2 semesters of math (Multi var Calc and Linear Algebra) at San Diego State University (which is still a 4 year university) during high school.

Do medical schools care that I didn't take my year of math at Berkeley? Or should I just take another year of Calc at Berkeley?

It shouldn’t be a problem in terms of the quality of education. You don’t need to take 2 semesters of math at Berkeley - your work at SDSU is good enough. However, you may want to take statistics, since some medical schools require it.

Which medical schools require statistics, shades? I’ve taken Calc 2 and 3, but never statistics.

I think some of the UC’s might.

IN your case the SDSU math should be fine, if you start picking up OChem & physics at Alameda College that could raise an eyebrow, but to have completed the work at your local university, esp whilst still in HS should not be an issue. If you go to a university for your degree they expect you to take the pre-reqs there and not avoid the weeder courses. If you picked up a random requirement in summer school at home, that is likely a non-issue, too

Another concern I have is that since I took only 1 semester of calc and another semester of linear algebra, I’m not sure if that satisfies the 1 year of calculus requirement by med schools.
