I was told this by a lecturer at a college career event for the college of business. I found it interesting that he said most undergrad business school majors think they will get a corporate job with a company, work 9-6 and have a steady paycheck. He then went on to say most business majors start in sales (minus accounting) and most do not want to go into sales. He particulary called out the finance majors. Finally he said, business is SALES and the shoe fits with doing this work if you major in a business (not accounting). Any thoughts on this?

Marketing is sales. Finance is number crunching. Depending on the school you go to you might have to do PWM sales or something. It is a great skill to have, but not everyones cup of tea.
