I'm trying to get into one of the programs in US, but I heard that these programs tend not to accept foreign students. But I remeber that one student from my school actually got accepted to Rochester.... Would they accept foreign students if their scores and ECs are outstanding?

Rochester??? Was he/she completely an international student???
I mean, Was he/she accepted Rochester BA/MD without green card or US citizen???
If so, do you know anything about his stat??? I’m really curious about it.

he graduated about 2 yrs ago… his stats were really really outstanding… he had 4.0 GPA, over 2300 SAT 1, 800s on all 3 SAT subject tests, 15 AP 5s… about ECs, i don’t know much but i know that he did research for 4 yrs as high school student and participated in hospital work for 4 yrs and stuff… my counselor told me that he had never seen someone who performed his interviews better than this kid… and of course he was completely international

Wow pretty impressing!!
by the way where is he from???
if he is Chinese or Indian or Korean
If would have been pretty much a disadvantage…

by the way compare to him do you think I have any chance???

my SAT is over 2300(CR+M is 1600),
10 APs(1/3 of which would be 4 and others would be 5)
SAT2 bio 770 chem 780 math IIC 800 world history 800 physics expect 750+
for GPA i’ll assume 4.0/4.0(unweighted) as i don’t know how my school
will convert my score into US GPA scale…
for EC I’m a club veep and founder and president of another club
and I’m a participant of ASC([2009 Asian Science Camp/Japan](http://asc09.kek.jp/))
and will have research internship in a famous hospital in my country
([Asan Medical Center - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Asan Medical Center - Wikipedia))
and have some shadowing doctor experience and
volunteering in local health center…

※I think most BA/MD programs accept
applies from international students…
send mails to each BA/MD program

which school do you go to? KMLA? HAFS? Daewon? i know you’re korean… (asan hospital…) kkkkk

me???
My school is not such a famous one??
My school is a foreign language high school near seoul(it’s not in seoul)
but my school is not so good as KMLA or HAFS and almost does not
send its students to US univs…

by the way, are you from some kinds of foreign language high school???
if so, i think you are from daewon???

i don’t go to such a famous school either… so are you going to apply to BA/MD programs for early decision? (or early action… either way)

I think I’ll apply to a bunch of BS/MD???(10 schools or less???)

Only going schools like HYPSMC or Ivies does not
ensure going med school to foreigners…
(I even heard that foreigner only go so-so med school
with score that can bring US citizens or residents to
top 10 med school)

sad to be foreigners in US and have to do military service…
even though I don’t love my country so much…

i’m seeing a counselor to help me apply to us colleges/universities, but he says that my chance of getting into these programs (even with exceptional scores, ECs and essay) is very very slim and advises me to apply to other schools… i think i’m going to apply to Brown PLME and Rice/Baylor… i know that PLME accepts foreign students, but what about Rice/Baylor?

Ah… i think both accept foreign students??
but both are hard to get in(rice/baylor is harder as baylor is good med school)

actually you should looking for BA/MD programs of less prestigious schools
if you really wanna get in???
