<p>The Arts Supplement of the Common App requests that any teacher recommendation be sent directly to the school of application - they don’t submit it through the Common App like the main form. Also, many schools have their own forms for any arts/music supplement, and don’t use the Common App’s arts supplement.</p>
<p>So, to answer your question, if the teacher’s recommendation is for the Music Supplement, and if you applied to the school using the Common Application, then the band instructor’s letter will be an additional rec. To be considered one of the required recommendations, the teacher would use the Teacher Evaluation form of the Common Application.</p>
