Do Other's Acceptances affect your College Admissions?

HI everyone. I was just pondering whether schools care about how many kids they accept from any given school. For example, my school has 50 kids per grade. If 8 of the 50 are qualified to go to a college, for example, UCLA or UC Berkely, will the school potentially accept all of them if they are all qualified, or will they accept only the top 4 or something like that from the school.
I am sure that this is a very relevant question for a lot of people, so post away!

As far as top schools like UCLA and UCB go, I can safely say that they don't directly compare you to students from the same school. This goes for all of the top 30 schools. If they think you're qualified, they'll accept you. They'll never say, "Well, we've already accepted so-and-so from this guy's high school, so we probably shouldn't accept any more."

If your school doesn't usually send many students to top colleges, then a school might look down on you if you aren't in the top XX%.
