Do parents interview too, or is it just the kid?

Some schools talk to the parents, and some don’t. In my experience, my parent wasn’t really interviewed in the traditional sense. They just spoke with my interviewer for a couple of minutes, and parents could ask questions and feel a little more involved in the whole process.

I can only answer for Groton, as my daughter is applying there this year for 8th grade ( if she doesn’t get in 8th grade then next year its Groton, PEA,PA, DA, Milton, L’ville and SPS) - at Groton they brought parents into the interview room after interviewing kids- ostensibly to ask if you had questions…but it seemed more like an interview to me.
My D was in the interview room for 45 mn with the Head of admissions so I was a little overwrought by the time I went in- I was afraid of letting her down~!

So is it an interview, or a small Q and A session?

It’s a blend of both. It’s predominantly: “Why do you think your child has come to visit XYZ Academy?” or “What can your child offer to ABC School?” Then the parent asks some questions, and that’s that.

Chill, bro ;)
