I think you’re fine. Most girls in my sorority work and do some other extracurriculars

My only advice is that your job will need to be flexible. My job is NOT flexible at all and I could only make it to mandatory events (which to me was a waste of money since I paid so much a month for all events). I dropped because of how demanding/inflexible the job was.

My coworker is currently in a sorority and she is initiated and suffers as well from our inflexible job. She has to pay fines for being unable to attend certain events.

it will obviously depend on the house but any good house will actually encourage you to be involved in other things. It only benefits the house to have people with their hands in other organizations. It would also get pretty boring if no one ever spent time away from the house.

Most definitely. At my school, Greeks are involved in so many things. They’re on exec boards of clubs, participate in dance marathon, help put on orientation week, and participate in student government. I’m Greek and I have a job and participate in a couple of clubs. A few of my coworkers are Greek, and it’s all about balance. Our job is really flexible, so there’s opportunities to request off if you have mandatory events, etc.

Definitely. I’m in a sorority with a packed social schedule, but I’m also a research fellow, a club president, and work in one of the graduate schools!

My girlfriend is in a sorority, works a school job and has an internship, 18 credit hours, and is in around 3-4 clubs. She gets along just fine with time to spare.
