Outdoor sex is pretty much normal at any school with a social life. Been around since before most of you were born. People just did not walk around with cameras back then. Means nothing. See film “Woodstock”.

Because Woodstock was normal?

For people of that generation–yup. Most of those kids were from the suburbs of NY, NJ , CT. Many of my friends went from NJ. It was just another big party with music before it became an icon.

Yeah, but that’s like saying it’s been around since before you were born, because the Romans had orgies. Yeah, there was a point in the past, but there’s not continuity. Woodstock wouldn’t be typical for the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s.

Ever heard of Spring Break, Bonnaroo, Oregon Country Faire, Burning Man? It still is going on yearly at all those places and on most campuses.

Nice backtrack, kid…

Wrt acccusing me of a flamewar here, I just proposed that there wasn’t evidence to state fully that the other person besides the guy --certainly looks like a female – was a UCLA coed and sorority member.

‘Stupidity with no fascination in the subject,’ comes to mind when I saw the pics. I was just answering your extremely unsupported claims along with liz’mom, or whatever her name is. In fact, you just seemed to follow liz’mom because you felt buttressed. Again, as sentiment proved, you and lizmom have nothing.

I agree, let the subject lie, put it to bed.

@drax12: She was a UCLA student and sorority member. My child knows her. If you go back to College ACB there were links posted to videos and her name was listed. Fortunately I think all of that has been taken down. There is nothing to be gained by “naming” her here. She was reprimanded by her sorority, as was the guy by his frat. It was 2 drunk kids who used very bad judgement. And it unfortunately happens everywhere. Same thing occurred at Stanford recently on the main quad. Situations like this have no real reflection on an entire student body.

PM me and give me some general info, no names needed. I’ll contact UCLA, Kappa Theta at the school to see if these are true.

And why is she a former student?

And I’m not trying to impose some morality clause. But if it did happen at UCLA, I would be highly embarassed for the school. It wouldn’t reflect on the student body as a whole, agreed, but it would make me wonder how loose a ship the school was in allowing state property to be used in this manner. I’m just wondering how some students could be allowed access to a rooftop as this? What happens if this were an observatory, or for for some other public use? And a lot of people can say anything without at least a hint of substantiation on the internet. So I’ll wait for your PM.

Since this thread has totally derailed, I’ll ask something tangentially related to this tangent: does anyone have a link to a certain video in which Stanford students went to Berkeley and filmed them doing all sorts of embarrassing stuff, like peeing out windows, admitting they prefer Stanford but didn’t get in, etc.? The video was everywhere a few years ago and I can’t find it. Just thought I’d ask while we’re still off-topic. :)

Phanta, let’s leave Berkeley out of a thread for once…

^ you would say that ;)

FWIW after much intensive digging I have finally unearthed it. On youtube, no less. PM me if you’d like the link - you know you want to :p

Oh good grief. college students everywhere have sex. This couple used poor judgment, but it doesn’t “reflect” on USC or UCLA for that matter. It’s a non story, and it doesnt have anything to do with the U of Spoiled Children accusation, as sex is not something that only happens among spoiled children. Move on.

lizsmom engaged in some really delusional[CA rankings.](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/876205-what-top-5-schools-california-10.html#post10453957) This sounds like something entirely purile. Still no PM. Main thing I would like in the PM is corroboration that ‘her child’ knows the supposed UCLA Theta.

And leave it to Pizzagirl to misconstrue everything I stated. You have to remember Pizza, that if this happened at UCLA, there would be a very large public outcry as the U is entrusted to, with, and for the people of CA. It certainly is a higher standard absolutely.

If the same thing did happen at Stanford, it might actually help the U some. USC (or UCLA for that matter) not so, as people believe the students at the school there tend to be more wild anyway. And this doesn’t belie the fact that if both were drunk, being in a building top near the ledge is never a smart thing.

Do you go by phantasm as xiggi calls you, Phanta as UCB just did or phantasia?

Anyway, here’s your quote:

I’m not comprehending…

‘Stanford students going to Berkeley…peeing out windows, admitting they prefer Stanford but didn’t get in, etc…’

And was what lizsmom said true about two students in the quad? What became of this?

This. I’ll change “Greek life” to “kids who had parents who indulged their every whim.” This isn’t restricted to USC. I know MANY kids who are spoiled, self-centered idiots that didn’t go to USC. It’s all about how you were raised, not what school you went to!

Nearly all of my friends at USC came from middle-class (or lower than middle-class) families and were at the school on scholarships/financial aid. My parents never bought me a fancy car, never sent me on trips, never paid for my room and board in an expensive apartment, etc. I am hardly “spoiled,” nor did attending USC make me feel entitled and changed how my family treated me/how I treated others.

This is such a stupid argument. Spoiled children can attend any school, from Harvard (sure there’s lots there!) to San Jose State. MOVE ON.

Not just “outdoor sex,” but sex of any kind. (And drinking, drug use…etc. Except BYU.) I mean, you probably don’t like to think “deviant” behavior happens at your child’s school or your alma mater – but please be realistic.

And to the lady who thinks Woodstock-like behavior doesn’t happen anymore clearly hasn’t poked her head outside in 40 years. Please look at events like EDC, Coachella, Bonaroo, etc.

Your ‘them’ is almost dangling, could be ‘filming [students there],’ but I guess if it were students self-filming it would be ‘themselves’ instead of ‘them.’ Who am I to critique, really.

I think the titles were Big Game, Parts I and II – saw only part I. I didn’t think they were that bad. A lot of dorm parties, but seemed not that outrageous.

I liked the self-putdown of the Stanford students, something to the effect of, ‘…security guards are better looking than our cheerleaders.’

Here’s a video of [Baccalaureate Celebration 2011](<a href=“2011 Baccalaureate Celebration - YouTube”>2011 Baccalaureate Celebration - YouTube). They’re right, not a lot of hot women.

drax12,

“Phantasmagoric” is a word by itself, so it doesn’t have a natural break, although there’s a root in there somewhere (dictionary says “phantasm” is Old French).

Well, it was a video trying to make Berkeley students look as bad as possible, so two Stanford students “infiltrated” the enemy before the Big Game and asked questions, went to parties, etc. and picked the worst moments. Coincidentally, the party they focus on is at Kappa Sig - the camera focuses on their insignia outside and the words “At an undisclosed location” appear, haha. Kappa Sigs just have a terrible rep at every school… including Stanford, where they were just thrown out of their house, partly for allowing a freshman to get alcohol poisoning during orientation (a dry week).

Anyway, Youtube “special big game edition” for full details - it’s pretty funny at some parts but also mean and makes Stanford look bad too.

As for what lizsmom said, I didn’t hear about anything racy that went on at the quad, although there’s the “Full Moon on the Quad” tradition every year that features lots of kissing, naked people, and dry humping. I’ve heard legends of students having sex in Hoover Tower, the library stacks, and the gym. I figure every college has its fair share of such debauchery, though normally the students are smart enough not to do it in front of the world in broad daylight.
