What would be the salary for a stock broker who works 40 hour weeks?I tried searching this but no luck, I ask here because maybe some of you have family that are in the business. Where do you think would be a good place to intern as a broker?and is it risky?

You could intern with Scottrade. They are always looking for interns.

stock broker is another word for salesman. you have to get clients and retain clients and make sure they buy and or sell with you. you can work 10 hours a week but have some great clients, or you can work 90 hours a week and have crappy clients and barely make anything.
most places you can get an internship and it wont be paid. you will most likely do a lot of nothing work. once you get your sponsored for your licenses etc then you will be properly trained and probably make a training salary of something like 40k possibly+small commission. after the training period, the salary is dropped and you are on your own...thats how it works over here basically.
feel free to ask more Qs...if something sounds wrong or off lemme know.

so I am guessing, that stock broking isnt a real secure job?Do you know a good job that pays 80k starting, thats alittle more secure

jackfitz,

go to vault.com and do some research.

...why 80k? why not 800k? if you do something legitimate and something that you like youll be ok, dont pick something cuz it pays well after school.
