Do they clear calculator's memory?

During the test, test supervisors will check your calculator to ensure that:

*
it is a permitted type;
*
you use it only during the Mathematics Test;
*
you use your backup calculator only if your primary calculator fails;
*
you do not share your calculator; and
*
you do not store test materials in your calculator's memory.

This was taken from the ACT site, according to the last one, it says that we can't store any information on the calculator? Are the proctors going to check your calculators or something?

Thanks!

no i took it twice already and they haven't checked if you got ACT Programs or that in your calc. just checked the type of calc it is.

Thanks for the quick response!

i think by "test materials" they mean putting the actual test questions into your calculator during the test.

I don't think they'd ever go around and clear all the calculators.
that would take far too long for them.

I have never had my calculator cleared.

maybe i shouldnt say this but if you archive stuff on your calculator it dosent get cleared

dude no wherever you got that information from its wrong....they dont check your calculators...heck i doubt if the proctors know how to use calculators...let alone knowing how to delete the programs

do they really check calculator? has anyone ever tried to use the 89? just wondering, im going to use the 83 anyways.

yes they check if it is the right one. you can't use 89 i got mine taken up. i got a 25 in math with no calc;)

I've never had mine checked

It is really unrealistic for them to check a calculator that carefully, and besides, anyone who really knows how to use their calculator can make sure the proctor won't clear the information (mentioned above). This is so unrealistic for so many reasons.
