Hi! I am an international student and will be applying for transfer admission to some colleges this year. I have studied for 1.5 years at a peruvian university, and then I will be studying 1 more year at an american university before entering to another school.
Anyways, I have searched on the colleges websites and have written to their admission offices and many of them require the transcripts to be sent directly from my previous institutions. My question is, is that how it is in the US? I believe the american college I will be attending this year may not give me any problems, but I do not know what to expect from the peruvian university. Sending the transcripts to each college I will be applying will be expensive and I don't think the university will take care of those fees. Besides that, they are not very friendly about that, and I may find it difficult to tell them to send the transcripts to another college in the US. And I am pretty sure that all transcript have to be traduced and legalized, so that will add more complications to the process. I believe they can also submit the report through the CommonApplication, but it is still important to send the transcripts. So what should I do?
If colleges need the transcripts in physical copies, they will receive them no amtter what, but I am trying to find the easiest way (and maybe cheaper?) for it.

I know I have time to think about it, but any comments about it? Anyone that had to sent transcripts form an international school? Did you received help from your previous institution and they sent them or charged you for this? Thanks a lot!
