I’m an Electrical Engineering major at UT Austin, just finished my first year, and I’m currently taking my lower division Physics 1 and 2 classes at a local university this summer. In the long term, I plan to apply to attend graduate school. Will not taking these classes in residence at UT look bad to prospective universities when it comes time to apply for graduate school
–do prestigious grad schools, in particularly, dislike it? Physics is central to my major, and I know a local college class is much less demanding than one in residence, but I’m learning by the book to build a strong foundation in the material. Ignoring all other factors (i.e, the rest of my graduate school application is decently strong), how significant are transfer credits to prospective graduate schools’ view of applicants?
