Hi! I was wondering if I could have someone’s opinion. I was a first year junior at UTD from Ap credit and dual credit at a local community college. My high school gpa was a 3.44 but I took a lot of AP and honors classes and my college GPA is 3.76 with all junior and senior level classes. I start my “senior” year at UTD this fall but I want to transfer to UT Austin but I will have completed 104 credit hours at UTD. I hate UTD and want to transfer. Would UT Austin reject me because of my credit hours? I really want to leave. I am a math major and want to transfer to natural sciences at UT Austin. I have gotten A+ in Abstract Algebra 1 and 2 and a B in Advanced Calculus. I don’t know what to do I just want to transfer. I am 19 and never had a college experience and I’m expected to graduate next spring.
Why transfer when you are so close to your degree? My recommendation would be to complete your bachelors at UTD and apply for a masters at UT if you are so keen on attending UT. I don’t think you’d get accepted to UT as a senior transfer anyway.
Agree that you should finish your undergraduate degree at UT-Dallas and then enter a graduate degree program at UT-Austin.
I doubt that you would be accepted as a transfer student, but it might be possible to attend UT-Austin as a visiting student for a semester or a year.
Agreed with other people UTD have pretty good program for engineer and stem. You should complete your bachelor there and go to UT austin or elsewhere for master. I dont think you would like Austin more than Dallas anyway. It is big af.
