most universities in US allow it wherein you can get a bachelor's in two fields in 4 years.
i will be applying to canadian universities as well,so please if you could help.
thanks

The University of Toronto does. I don’t know about other Canadian universities.

You can probably find each university’s academic policies online. I found Toronto’s in the [New Student Guide](https://www.uc.utoronto.ca/images/stories/Registrar/Documents/UC%20New%20Students’%20Guide%202011%20-%20final.pdf).

does a dual major mean double the cost since I guess I will have to take twice the number of credit hours compared to a single one ?

Again, this depends on the university. Toronto distinguishes between specialists, majors and minors. Students need one of the following to graduate:

1 specialist (means taking basically all of your courses in a single subject)

2 majors

1 major and 2 minors

That means that you could double-major at Toronto without taking any additional classes.

I would encourage you to read the academic policies at a couple more Canadian universities to get a feeling for the university landscape there. You wouldn’t want to bet your future on an anonymous stranger on the internet anyway, would you?

yea I see what you mean, obviously I need to clarify all the facts with the universities I am looking at.
but dual majors won’t be respected as much as just a single major out of the two because I’ll have to take the same number of classes either ways, right ?
thank you very much :)

No they don’t.

^ That’s clearly false. See posts #2 and 4.

do they provide dual majors in two different engineering fields ?
like ME+EE or any other combination?

Why don’t your learn how to navigate a university website? Then you could find the answer to such questions yourself, faster than we could answer them for you!
