<p>look at your QUARTER grades or your SEMESTER grades? i know there's always exceptions in schools, but i mean generally well known ones, the ivy league being a prominent example.</p>
<p>i always thought it was kind of "both", looking at the quarter grades and generalizing a semester grade from that. then i realized "well, then your exams would only affect two of your report cards"</p>

<p>Our school always tells us that they look at Semester grades only, and that quarter grades are just another report card.</p>

<p>Semester. All of our other grades [at least at my school], even we don't really see them... I mean maybe we get an emailed grade report from the teacher, but not always, or regularly lol.</p>
<p>At my school it was year grades only, and then first semester of senior year.</p>
