Do WashU admissions officers look at early-submitted RD applicants at the same time as EDapplicants?

Hi everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone knows if the admissions officers look at RD applications submitted before the ED deadline and make decisions simultaneously while looking at ED applications (sorry that was quite a sentence). I was just nervous because there's a girl in my class that is clearly a better applicant than I am (better numbers, better course-load, stellar ECs) and she's submitting her RD this week. I was feeling pretty confident about my ED application, but now I'm worried because if the admissions officers are comparing our apps side by side, she's definitely the one getting in from our school. Will they review RD applications before they finish reviewing all the ED applications?

I’m not sure how she can be much stronger than you. Your Chance me thread is impressive. Stop worrying about other people and worry only about your own situation.

Heck, don’t even worry about that

The commitment to ED is much higher value than a slightly better resume. WashU cares a lot about yield.

Try not to worry about what you can’t control and don’t believe everything you hear about school quotas and such. Maybe 8-10 kids from my D’s school applied to Wash U last year and 4 got in. Applying ED is the best edge you can give yourself beyond all the hard work you’ve already put into it. Fingers and toes crossed for you!

I just read your Chance Me post. Would you be running CC or track at Wash U?

Unfortunately, not on the varsity level- I got injured Jr year and things have stagnated ever since. Thanks everyone for your support, I just really love WashU and hope I make it! But after your input I feel so much better:)
