Someone told me that once you're accepted to Columbia you get the Iliad in the mail. I was just wondering if thats true cause I got into SEAS ED and haven't received it yet (of course SEAS students might not get it). Any input it appreciated.

only CC students get the iliad in the mail and its not right when they get accepted...you will also be able to pick it up at one of the info sessions for matriculated students. As for SEAS students, in 2003 we recieved a book written by Jack Mcgourty about teamwork or some BS like that which is supposed to be applicable to Gateway. If you recall, I have already ridiculed Jack Mcgourty in another thread and if you want more info about how terrible he is you can look him up on culpa.info. Don't worry though, he is def not representative of most Columbia SEAS professors.

...his midlife-crisis-mobile is pretty awesome though.

I think Gateway just sucks irrespective of who teaches it. The whole course was run by some cranky and temperamental grad student (Mark something) my year, and everyone hated him and the course.

Everybody cheated on the assignments, though, so that was pretty awesome. Is that still the case?

my ta this year didnt give less than 100's. we could turn stuff in 1/2 done and he would just say "do it more complete next time"
