Do we really NEED to take summer classes to graduate?

My friends advisor told him that they aren’t necessary to graduate. He said that “you’ll stand In a long line, and sign a paper saying you couldn’t afford them.” I know there is a technical graduation requirement for 9 summer credits at a university in the state, but I don’t want to waste my time or money

Technically, yes, it is a requirement within the state of Florida, however the requirement can be waived if you can prove that it is a hardship.

Usually the easiest way to do that is to simply fill out the form that your friend’s advisor is talking about. However, keep in mind that there is nothing that says that they have to grant the waiver.
