“Someone from a different race can’t understand the food you like and manners you have?
That’s offensive.”

So you are saying that someone with Blonde Hair and Blue eyes would understand Chinese culture a lot better than someone who is Chinese, grew up in a Chinese household and lived in China for a long time?

Sure 1 out of a million times that may be true but still majority of the time it won’t be. In most cases race = culture, unless the person is Hispanic but even then a lot of Hispanics differ based on culture, a Puerto Rican is a lot more different than a Mexican. So race in many cases has a correlation to culture.

“Am I the only one who thinks people of any race or any background can be beautiful?”

Okay when I said I wouldn’t date a Blonde or Redhead with pale Skin and blue eyes it did imply that I wouldn’t date a White girl. Now lets say I had to choose between a White Latina with those traits and a White girl with Black hair and brown eyes, I would take the White girl. I don’t reject people based on race, there are some features I just don’t find desirable in a person and I don’t see the point of dating them for it since attraction also plays a role.

Anyways, been nice talking to you guys, I am out, any comments, feel free to message me.

He’s not saying that the blonde girl would do it better, but she can still do it. and your point on preferring a certain look is valid, wtv, i dont really care, i’m not trying to date you. i dont “prefer” indian guys.

I’m white. I like Chinese food (not just Americanized Chinese food! But authentic!). I am intrigued by Chinese culture. Do I understand it as well as the person you described? No. But why can’t I appreciate it?

So yeah, I’m offended.

Dude, have more faith and don’t be such a pessimist.

I am not saying this makes you a bad person, but I just feel bad you automatically discount features. Because I think blonds, redheads, brunettes, white, blacks, Latinas, tall, short, etc…pretty much anything CAN be attractive.

Physically, I am most attracted to East Asian guys, and almost exclusively so. I believe I’ve been heavily influenced by my culture; I’ve grown up in a family where almost every single celebrity has been evaluated by my mother or my sister (e.g. “if their eyes had been larger…”; “his skin tone is…”; etc.) and almost all of these celebrities have been Asian. I would say I’m able to pinpoint the best features of nearly every Asian I’ve been attracted to…but for other races, I have no clue. I think Asian beauty standards have been drilled into me.

Having said that, I’ve actually only dated Caucasians…then again, I don’t know any East Asian guys at my school…

I’d say I’m physically attracted to East Asians, but for dating, I really only consider “intellectual attraction,” if that makes any sense. Personality, too, of course. =P

I’m basically the opposite. I’ve grown up with various Asian guys (our family has the whole “Asian connection with every Asian within a 50 mile radius” thing going on), so I’m not usually attracted to Asians. It takes a VERY attractive Asian for me to find him remotely attractive.

That said, I’ve dated both Asians and non-Asians.

doesn’t matter as long as she’s up there in my standards. Actually I’d like my GF to be outside of my race, after coming to America I’ve been really liking all the diversity I see. You learn a lot about other culture too if you do date someone outside your race also.

Yeah, I do date outside my race. Race doesn’t define a person’s personality, and personality is the most important factor to me when it comes to dating. Also, I can find people of any race to be attractive. I just don’t think it’s fair to judge a potential dating partner by their race because they didn’t choose to be the race they are, and race alone doesn’t define who a person is. Physically, yeah I have my preferences but personality outweighs physical attributes.

I would date a guy outside my own race so long as he is a nice and sophisticated person. I have dated outside my own race and it was a very cool and interesting experience. I learned a few new things.

Even though I don’t date, I actually have a more difficult time seeing myself date someone from my own race for some reason. On the flip side, I have a more difficult time seeing other people accept the idea of me dating out of my race.
