Do you enjoy Conn

Looking for a student's perspective on Conn. Is it as preppy as folks suggest ? We took a self tour and then a formal tour. I was surprised at how many guys were walking the campus -- big change from the 70s. DD fell in love with the campus. "I love it". But she needs to see more schools. They are looking for diversity and a bus load of city kids from NY were there touring also. Does a blonde white girl named Katie stand a chance ? They are SAT optional, but I wonder how many submit. I was not impressed by the quads but understand that upper class students often get singles. New London does not impress me but then schools in the woods in upper NY State have less -- Conn kids can easily get on I-95 and hit Mystic, NL, Amtrak or Shoreline East and go to NYC or Providence. DD doesn't want a Abercrombie crowd. I think that it is artsy fartsy so there should be all types. I am happy that the school is not D1 in sports and does not have Greek life.

Any perspectives appreciated. I dont want a Bard school, Looking at Dickinson, and others in PA and maybe Hobart, St Law. She is going to shadow a student in January to get the "vibe". She is an equestrian and they have that club sport.

can’t help you from a student view, as I am a parent of a high school senior who also loved the school. I liked it, he loved it. We sat in on a psychology class and he said “it’s everything he is looking for education wise” The 60/40 boy girl ration is a plus for him. Agree the town is just fine, the school is pretty, the coffee shops on campus are cute, loved that they have a dedicated vegetarian dining option. We will see, it’s at the top of his list but not alone up there.
