Do you ever miss middle school?

In 8th grade, I got pretty meh grades (lots of B’s), but I was super social and would go out a lot more than I do now. So yes and no. 6th-7th grade were w.e.

Middle school doesn’t have nearly as many opportunities, clubs, etc. to choose from as highschool. And I don’t know how different your school is from mine @MissSuzyQ, but people use their phones more than they communicate in the cafeteria. In the cafeteria, people use their phones to talk to each other-- no joke. My school is very tech-savvy, but sometimes it is too much. That said, I have had some informative, and encouraging LA teachers in middle school.

At my middle school, phones were usually placed within our lockers. If not, no student dared to use them in class and I personally NEVER saw anyone using their phone at lunch.

Now? It’s impossible to sit at a table in the cafeteria in which no one is using their phone instead of actually interacting with others. It’s disgusting, in my opinion.

I had an informative and encouraging LA teacher in middle school too. :P

Middle school was stupid. The teachers didn’t think I was smart enough to be put on the advanced track so I am behind in science and math now in high school compared to other kids.

I wasn’t really made fun of but I enjoy the freedom of high school much more. Middle school was stupid.

I feel nostalgic about it, but I wouldn’t want to go back.

I agree with Yakisoba and halcyonheather… I miss certain aspects but I would not go back. Middle school is something you should only go through once… it’s an awkward and immature atmosphere . But it’s normal to miss middle school even as a sophomore; I’m a junior and I still miss my old teachers.

Personally, my middle school experience was forgettable. I mean, I think that’s generally what people are saying, I had the best experience in 8th grade when I had so many more friends and the curriculum was just so fun. Some things just don’t even change from middle school, as in the freakishly slow computers, same lunch food, etc. The challenge program at my school was really fulfilling but I felt like I still wasn’t challenged to my full capacity. 8th Grade was hands-down my favorite grade to date, only because I had so many friends that I really enjoyed having class with. The quaint environment of a middle school classroom, like your own little tight-knit communities, I will miss.

I concur with halcyonheather. Some parts of it I miss, but I would not redo it. I feel like I enjoy high school more.

NO middle school was the worst time of my life. I had many enemies because I didn’t “fit in” everyone was mean. You’ll still find some in high school but not many high schoolers care about fitting in because of the diversity, almost everyone from “different social groups” gets along with each other. The staffs are also great. TVs and Movies based on high school are so cliche and irrelevant.

Yes, mostly 8th grade. I was in MATHCOUNTS and school was so easy and fun.
