I was wondering, do entering freshmen get to choose who they want their roommate to be? Like based on gender, major, ethnicity, etc.?

I wrote them a letter saying I wanted a 5'3, petite brunette girl with brown eyes, an athletic body, and a 3.3+ gpa who puts out on a nightly basis. I suggest you do the same.

roommates will always be the same gender as you, but other than that you don't get a preference.

If you know the name of who you'd like to room with, I believe you can request. (The other person has to request you also)

You don't get a preference as to what type of person you want to room with (ex. quiet, smart, does hw for fun, etc). You can, however, mutually request each other. (Usually works, but I have heard some people say that they didn't get who they requested).

LOL tell that to summer advising. I roomed w/ some girl......that was interesting -_-

Well the tour lady said that you can request someone with the same major as you. So that's not true?? lol

tour lady has no idea what shes talking about.

You can request to be with a friend, but otherwise you take what you are given. I have several friends who moved into different dorm rooms right after the first quarter so it can be done. I suggest the suites, just a hint.

You can select what type of roommate you get by opting for a themed dorm, I know theres a building just for engineering majors for example.
