Do you guys think APUSH or AP world is easier?

is one more memorization based/writing intensive? thanks :)

APUSH was a lot easier for me because I had trouble keeping all of the different cultures in AP World straight in my mind. With APUSH, all of the memorization had to do with only one country instead of many. :P

They’re both memorization-based (my school’s book for APUSH was harder to read than AP World, personally). APUSH was less writing-intensive for me because my teacher kind of gave up on giving us writing prompts. :stuck_out_tongue: Basically, they’re both classes for the hard worker, and any differences will depend on your school and your own personal affinity for history.

I took both courses and did not find either of them particularly easy. That being said, neither were particularly difficult either; it ultimately depends on how much work you want to put into them.

AP World is definitely more writing-intensive. You have three types of essays you have to master compared to APUSH’s two types.
Although history courses are almost always memorization-heavy, world and ush are two different types of memorization. For APWH, it’s about the “big picture,” how cultures and ideas changed over time. With the exam’s new formatting, there’s a bit of reading comprehension in the multiple choice as well. For APUSH, it is downright memorization. You have to know everything from landmark Supreme Court Cases to the Nixon’s domestic policies.

Ultimately, it depends on what kind of test-taker you are. Some students do fabulously in world and bomb ush, some are the other way around. Whichever course you choose, best of luck!

Both my kids felt a push was easier. Lots of memorization.
