I'm conducting a survey for my AP Government class. It would be helpful if you can help out.

Thankyou all for replying, sincerely. I always like how helpful you all are everytime I come here to ask a question. Thanks again :)

yes, i vote every time i can. i’m in ap government right now, and the trend of young people not voting upsets me, which really pushes me to vote. i think our generation is so smart, but too lazy to use our intelligence to better our country. also, i am an african-american woman, and i see voting as a right that many people before me worked hard to earn. i feel it is my duty to give my opinion through my vote.

I haven’t had a chance to, but I plan on it. Trust me, I’m going to be doing some strong lobbying come this year’s elections. There are more than a few reps and senators I want out. -_- I’m not impressed with my state currently.

I’m first eligible in 2012. When I am eligible, I certainly will vote. It’s a chance to express my opinion in a (somewhat) meaningful way, rather than just posting it on a forum or something like that.

I am preregistered to vote, and will become eligible this summer.

This is not the way to do an adequate study.

No more or less so than any other generation in human history.

I was thinking it, thank you for voicing it.

HAHAH BillyMc you sound like an INCREDIBLE tool man just saying

^ ???
What did he say that you found offensive?

I got some hate mail earlier, I think about this thread, from someone who had never posted on a thread I had, and hadn’t posted since December. A combination of poor grammar, lack of logic, and an overwhelming amount of asterisks rendered it difficult to understand. My bet would be an alterego.

1.) OP
2.) Hate mail guy
3.) Possibly new insult guy

Perhaps all the same person.

I’ve voted a couple times (state primaries and state general elections). I missed an election a few weeks ago that had a few proposals for changing city ordinances or something like that. I found out about the election late and when I glanced at the voter guide it looked like a bore, plus I didn’t really have enough time to take the bus to go vote.

There’s another election coming up soon to replace our congressman. I’ll probably vote in that one.

Take it from George Carlin. Voting is meaningless.

I vote in elections. Before I vote, though, I try to research what the political candidates are for or against so that I know that I will be voting for the right person. I dislike it when my parents say, “make sure to vote for this person!” even though we have different political views (they are generally conservative, I generally liberal).

I haven’t had the chance to vote yet, but I intend to soon.

I did not vote this year. Election day was actually on my birthday this year, and I didn’t relish the idea of spending my birthday standing in line all day waiting to vote.

why do you have to stand in line to vote?

I voted for the first time last november!

Because the only voting station near me is packed on voting days. I could have voted via mail, but I wasn’t registered and they didn’t send me a ballot.

I’m not legal yet, but yeah, I think I would after I reach 18. If I remember to register. It is kind of a hassle though at some places, which I guess is part of the reason why voter turnout is not extremely high.

Although I agree with BillyMC, this probably isn’t the best way to conduct a study. (And uh, every time I think about studies now I think about planting strawberries in differently lighted patches and lobsters fencing.)
