Way more friends in the bottom than in the top. True friends who I have connected to on a deep level? In the very, very top and either as smart or smarter than me.

I do not associate myself with the unclean bottom half…jk. To me, rank correlates in no way with friendship. I’m going to prom with someone who is going to an Ivy (compared to me and IU) and possibly one of my best friends is the way lower half. And most importantly, I value them both equally for who they are, not their number.

I do not know anyone in the bottom half, and it is not simply from lack of effort. For some strange reason, all of the popular people are usually in at least Honors classes, while the rest of the people are losers who no one knows or who people pick on because of their clothes and shoes (or just because they are plain wack).

It’s very strange, especially since it is an inner-city school. All of the superlatives and the prom queen and homecoming queen are in at least honors.

Even the notorious class-clowns have honors classes.

Because I have been involved in the band and soccer programs for the past three years I have had friends with a lower rank, though the people I generally hang out with are all in the top half. Especially because all of my classmates are now in the IB program.
