do you have to have a teacher's class for them to write a letter of reccomendation fo

Hey anybody who can pretty please help me? I would truly appreciate your honest opinions.

I am good friends with a teacher whom I never actually took a class with. Although, I am a participant of a club that he is the advisor for.

The reason I ask this question is because I feel as though out of all the teachers at my school he knows me and likes me the most. So... can I ask him?

Or will he have nothing to write?

Im in a pickle..

seriously guys… I really need your help :(

ba dump…

Go ahead and ask this teacher about it. He will be able to tell you yes or no.

I’d advise against it. The purpose of a teacher rec is for an objective evaluation of you as a scholar, a person of influence in the classroom and as an intellectual. Not as a buddy.

From the CA Teacher Evaluation form:

No, a good friend or a club advisor does not fit the requirement for a teacher LOR.

If you think his input is valuable, you could always send in a supplement recommendation :O

What T26 & entomom said.

this is what i figured… thank you for the input
