do you have to show your PASSION in your essay?

so i have an essay that i think is pretty good all set, it's about my family and stuff (i think it's fairly humorous), but i think i should display my main interest (piano) in some way... but if i write it now i have a feeling it won't be very good...

so what do you think?

(also, does anyone want to read my essays? please??)

I wrote about my family and childhood. Not a single mention of my passion.

I think you mentioned in another thread that you've won some piano competitions. I think that'll be enough to show that you're dedicated to the activity.

In my opinion, your essay is a chance to show something about you that your application does NOT reveal. I tried to show my thought process and the way I see the world in my essay. I feel that they already know what I do in and out of school, so why not use the essay to show who I really am as a human being?

i'll take a look at it if you want.

ya, college essays are an "opportunity for colleges to see how your mind works," as a college guide states
