Since lafayette is a presbyterian school, do you have to take required religion courses to graduate? Are most students there actually presbyterian?

alli31190,

Although Lafayette is historically-affiliated with the Presbyterian faith, the College places little weight on this affiliation. As a matter of fact, most students on campus are unaware of this historical affiliation!

No religion courses are required as part of the College's Common Course of Study (listed here: http://ww2.lafayette.edu/~registra/fyreg/StationeryLinks/CommonCourseofStudy.php).

About 40% of students are Catholic, 30% are Protestant (which includes the Presbyterian faith, among others), 15% are Jewish, and 10% are "other" (Hindu, Muslim, etc.).
