I took AMC 10 as a 9 th and 10 gr.ader.
I don't have proof that I took it though I know what scores I got.
Do I need to have something that shows I took or can I mention on apps.

That is a good question, I am wondering the same thing.

I was selected to take the AMC as a junior and I actually fainted the day of the test and I was not able to take it.

I guess in this case I'll just be clever and put.

"Selected to take the AMC 12"

lol. But anyways, to be helpful, I do not think you need prove, just like when you list other awards you got you do not need to send prove. I don't see why the AMC would be any indifferent unless you wanted to brag about an extremely high score or something.

lol ok. I didn't make AIME- missed by 7.5 pts.

You can always report your scores as XXX (based on AMC sponsor's report) -- the teacher who ran the copetition should have scores. Alternatively, you can contact the AMC folks. We did this and got an email from them reporting scores. It's nothing official-looking (except the email address), but it's something.

thanks. btw, the AMC teacher in our school is moving to a diff school and so am i.

You don't need proof, I don't think. If they really want to check, there are awards books each year that list all the people who scored over 100 (120 on AMC10).
