I want to set up an interview for this August for the 2015-2016 school year, but it wants me to put in some number from the Common App, which I will not be doing until next fall. Do you have to apply before you schedule an interview?

Congratulations for being on top of things for the 2015 admission cycle!

No, you do not have to submit an application before you schedule an interview. Sign-ups for on-campus interviews are typically available in July and for off-campus interviews in August. The Common Application will open for the 2015 cycle in July, 2014. Establish a Common Application account to obtain your ID number in July and then schedule an interview through USC’s online system [Admission Interviews - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/adm_interview.html) .

Good luck!

Also, many schools only grant interviews to seniors, which technically you are not yet…check the admissions portions of each school’s website…usually there are instructions as to how and when to schedule an interview- on or off campus. Good luck!

My son applied to USC’s School of Dramatic Arts. For the BA program, a formal interview with an admissions rep is required. We were under the impression that you had to apply to USC before you could schedule the interview.

Are you going to be applying to a program at USC that requires a separate interview?

I’m applying to the 5 year OT program; not sure if it requires an interview or not
