I am looking to transfer into the College of Business at FSU for the Spring 2015 semester. I currently attend St.Petersburg College and my gpa is a 3.45. I have all A's and B's on my transcript, nothing less. I currently have 54 credits and I am ready to apply to transfer. I graduated from high school in 2013 and I graduated with 24 dual enrollment credits. Most of the dual enrollment classes I took in high school I got B's in. I have been working to get mostly A's ever since. My high school gpa was a 3.79. I have all my pre-req classes for the College of Business as well. I am planning on applying any day now. I really want to get accepted. I am nervous about getting deferred or denied. Should I be nervous? And if you have any other suggestions to improve my chances of acceptance please feel free to share them.

Have you taken the SAT or ACT yet?

I took the ACT back in high school

With 54 credits completed you shouldn’t need to submit ACT/SAT scores anyway to FSU. You can, of course.

If you will complete your AA that will make transferring a lot easier. I know that the College of Business is very competitive so you will want a strong application but I think you should be fine. I would though make sure that you were completing your AA though. I’m not sure how many non-AA transfers the CoB accepts, so anything that can help you out would be good.

I will have my AA completed in December. I already signed up for classes to complete my AA in the fall. I realize that the College of Business is very competitive and I didn’t realize until reading through threads on here that the College of Business is Limited Access. Once I read into the whole Limited Access thing that is what made me stress because I only have a 3.45 gpa.

I’m set on FSU. Do you think a 3.45 college GPA and transferring with my AA completed and a 3.7 high school gpa will be good enough?

With a limited access program, it’s tough to tell. They can really pick and choose who they want to accept and who they don’t accept, whereas with non-limited access programs it’s basically that as long as you have your AA and a 3.0 you get accepted a majority of the time.

With your GPA though I don’t see why you wouldn’t get accepted. A 3.5 GPA give or take is pretty good.

I’m in the same situation as you… 3.4 GPA and will have my AA in december! trying to get into fsu’s marketing program… I’m really nervous about it being limited access…
